Lavender Day 2012 at Hauser Creek Farm

This past Sunday was Lavender Day at the farm. The lavender field, awash in purple, was open for snipping and sniffing. I was struck by the interest from folks wanting to cut their own bundles and just to explore the farm. I learned that, for some people, lavender holds sentimental value from earlier days. There are so many different ways to enjoy lavender, and I think that perhaps my favorite is the visual appeal of a basketful or armload of purple stems. We had a lot of armfuls on Sunday. Thanks to EVERYONE for coming out...your support is both inspiring and greatly appreciated! A special thanks to our friend David Norman at Quality Impressions Photography in Charlotte, NC, for filming the following video.
